The NMI Chapter of the American Red Cross is having its annual meeting tonight, Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Chapter office on Airport Road. All volunteers, donors, and others interested in the Red Cross are welcome to attend. The purpose of the meeting is to hold elections of the voting members of its board of directors, review reports by Chapter directors, and transact other business as it may come before the meeting. Cancer survivors guests in today’s John Gonzales Live[/B]
The topic for today’s John Gonzales Live will center around CNMI Cancer Survivors Week. Guests for today’s program are cancer survivor Agnes Mangolna-McPhetres, Trina Sablan of Breast and Cervical Screening Program, and Juan L. Babauta, a cancer survivor and program manager of the CNMI Cancer Association.
John Gonzales Live will host a second installment of its CNMI Cancer Survivors Week segment with cancer survivors Claire Kosack and Edward T. Salas serving as guests. A cancer survivor from the Filipino community has also been invited to the program.
John Gonzales Live airs Wednesday and rebroadcasts on Monday and Tuesday the following week all from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on KMCV Channel 14. The program also rebroadcasts on the web on Betelnut Radio (www.betelnutradio.com).

DEQ sets COP beach cleanup on Saturday[/B]
The Division of Environmental Quality’s cleanup brigade will be picking up trash at Coral Ocean Point Beach on Saipan on June 2, 2012, at 8am. If you would like to volunteer, meet the DEQ representatives on Saturday at the beach entrance parking lot. Volunteers will split into groups and clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed. For more information about volunteering, contact the DEQ office at 664-8500/1. NMC School of Education Open House on Friday[/B]
The Northern Marianas College School of Education is hosting an Open House for those who are considering teaching as a profession. Participants of the Open House can learn about new scholarship opportunities like the TEACH Grant Program, the four different academic concentrations available at the School of Education, and other program features.
