The Beach Road beautification project of the Saipan Mayor’s Office will ensure that those who will camp out for the Liberation Day festivities—if there is one—will be safe.

“July 4th celebration is only over a month away and we want to ensure that if we have that celebration, people can camp along Beach Road safely,” said Henry Hofschneider, special adviser to Mayor Donald Flores.

He said the beautification project involves cutting or removing trees along Beach Road, which are dangerous as they are already old and are dropping off branches or are termite-infested.

“Part of the project that has been completed is the part where you can see the lagoon and the beach when you drive up south. It’s beautiful,” he said.

The project is projected to take three months to complete.

.“As you drive down the Beach Road, please watch out for the workers,” he said.

CUC is also doing a similar project to clear power lines of tree branches.
