Is your organization ready to respond to emergencies?
The May general membership meeting of the Society for Human Resource Management CNMI Chapter will feature the topic “Is your organization ready to prevent, prepare, and respond to emergencies?” It will be presented by John Hirsh, executive director of the American Red Cross NMI Chapter.
The lunch meeting will be held at the Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret on Thursday, May 24, 2012, from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
All organizations must be prepared for disasters at any given moment. The process of developing a plan and being ready for a disaster can be burdensome and sometimes complicated, but it still needs to be done. This presentation is open to the public and will be an invaluable opportunity for employers and employees to learn about
* Why being prepared is important to your employees.
* How a disaster (natural or manmade) could seriously disrupt your business.
* Are both your business and your employees prepared for a disaster?
* The importance of having a plan in place.
* How different disasters require different plans of actions.
* Penalties businesses will face if there is no disaster plan in place.
* Statistics showing the most common disasters in the CNMI and how you can be prepared.
With the recent disasters globally, now, more than ever, it is critical for CNMI employers to find out how to prevent, prepare, and respond to emergencies in order to avoid any violations and fines.
The presentation includes lunch and the cost is $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members. Seats are limited, so reserve your seat by contacting Polly Masga at 237-5122 or e-mail her at shrmnmichapter@gmail.com.
