Reena J. Patel was sworn in by acting chief justice Alexandro C. Castro on Tuesday, May 15, as the newest assistant attorney general at the Civil Division of the Office of the Attorney General.

Patel graduated from law school in 2008 from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, Calif., and previously worked in private practice specializing in business transactions. She moved to Saipan last month with her fiancé, assistant attorney general James McCallister, who was sworn in earlier this year and is working at the Criminal Division of the Attorney General’s Office.

Patel was also accompanied at the swearing-in ceremony in the CNMI Supreme Court courtroom by Attorney General Edward T. Buckingham. (CNMI Judiciary)
