The CNMI Area Health Education Center, through the Northern Marianas College Community Development Institute, is sponsoring a review course for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, NCLEX-RN.

To become a licensed registered nurse, candidates in the CNMI and in the U.S. must first pass the NCLEX-RN. To qualify to register for the review course, participants must have at least an associate degree in Nursing.

CNMI AHEC will subsidize this review course for those individuals who are legal residents of the CNMI (i.e., U.S. citizens and U.S. green card holders). Due to limited funding, however, subsidy is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. For others who do not meet the CNMI residency requirements, the fee for the course is $150.

This NCLEX-RN review course will run from June 8 to July 28, 2012, at Building N, Room 5 at the NMC As Terlaje campus. The schedule for the course is 5pm to 7pm on Fridays, and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays for a total of 40 hours.

Interested applicants must register by Friday, June 1, 2012, and submit a copy of their highest nursing degree and a valid I.D. (U.S. passport, driver’s license, or birth certificate for verification upon registration). Full payment of the course fee is required before or upon registration and for admission. No refunds will be allowed after the first day classes are offered.

Additionally, NMC courses are required to have a minimum number of individuals enrolled in order to run. NMC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule such a course if this enrollment requirement is not met.

CDI courses are designed to improve individual knowledge and skills. If requested, certificates of completion may be awarded to each registered participant who completes all course requirements. CDI also provides customized trainings and courses upon request from interested individuals.

For more information or to register for the review course, visit the NMC Community Development Institute at the NMC As Terlaje campus in Building P. Those interested may also call CDI at 234-5498 Ext. 1005, 1010, 1019 or 1030, or email Orrin Pharmin at orrinp@nmcnet.edu. (NMC)
