On May 4, 5, and 6, 2012, Friends of the Arts presents the drama Sleuth, written by Anthony Shaffer. Two men face off in a deadly game of their own design in the changing times of 1960’s England. With witty dialogue and puzzling developments, this show entertains anyone who likes to think, listen, engage in games, or figure things out!
Showtime is 7pm Friday and Saturday nights and 3pm on Sunday at the Dolphin Black Box Theatre (Marianas High School, Building T). Tickets are available in advance or at the door for $8 for students (including college students with student ID), $12 for FOA members, and $15 for adults. [B]CCA meeting next week[/B]The Commonwealth Cancer Association’s board of directors will be holding its monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 8, at 3pm in the CCA conference room in Gualo Rai. The agenda includes reports from the president, steering committees, program manager, MMAC 2012, and program and project updates. All board meetings are open to the public. [B]Free business workshops[/B]The CNMI Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting the following free workshops:
– How to start a business: May 11, 2012; June 8, 2012. Time: 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
– How to write a business plan: May 18, 2012; June 15, 2012. Time: 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
– How to apply for a bank loan: May 4, 2012; May 25, 2012; June 22, 2012. Time: 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
– How to market your business outside the CNMI: May 7, 2012. Time: 9am to 11am. June 1, 2012; June 29, 2012. Time: 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
All workshops will be held at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce conference room on the first floor of the Familia Building in Garapan, Saipan. Deadline for pre-registration is 12pm, one day before the workshop.

[B]Tinian beaches get green flag[/B]The Division of Environmental Quality analyzed water samples collected from Tinian’s recreational beaches and dock this week as part of the regularly scheduled sampling. None of the samples collected contained excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria nor did they exceed the CNMI Marine Water Quality standards. DEQ assigns all of the sampled beach sites a green flag. The division analyzed a total of 11 samples from the shores surrounding Tinian this week. For more information, contact DEQ at 664-8500. (DEQ)
