Wake up, DPS!

I am seriously trying to understand DPS and the rookie officers. I worked for DPS for a long enough time and they still have the same habits and have passed it down to the rookies.

From my understanding, a traffic report is done in 3-5 working days but, seriously, why 10 and then no one still answers the phone at Traffic and Patrol. It just makes it worse.

I am no dummy when it comes to DPS. I have worked there long enough to know the protocol. let alone how they conduct themselves there. Why in the name of God are they continuing the bad habits that causes the public to continue to view them as if they are still incompetent to do a job? If anything, they need to be retrained. Just because they put a badge and gun on them does not mean they fully understand what it is to be an officer.

DPS need to seriously look at the officers and retrain them in what it is to be an officer and what their protocol stands for because I do recall we didn’t go to the extreme and hold a report far longer than three days and they need to see that. It is apparent these officers are not aware of what a sworn officer is supposed to do.

Why does it take Officer Cepeda well over three working days to do a traffic accident report? In fact it is 12 days later yet the report is still not done when it should have been done. That shows the lack of attention these officers have when doing a report because had this been one of their relative, I’d bet it would be done. This is because they do not understand their own protocol. They figure they get paid to drive around and take reports but forget to do the report.

Really, DPS officers need to understand one thing: Just because they give you a badge and gun does not make you an officer. Seriously, come here to the States and see what it is to be a real police officer. They will laugh them out their uniforms. Wake up DPS and do your job when it comes to taking a report. I tried not to be ugly about this but when I call no one answers the phone and when they are informed by another officer, they still do not have it done. Wake the hell up!
