Attitude

Allowing all registered voters in the CNMI to vote on the question of repealing or retaining Article 12 is a wise idea. We should not promote the me-versus-them or us-Chamorro-and-Carolinians-versus-them-foreigners attitude. We are a United States of America family and if you are a U.S. citizen, by all means participate. We were once foreigners ourselves; think about it. On some islands, perhaps a third or 33 percent have left for greener pastures elsewhere. Pretty soon we will be alone. Who wants to be alone? Selfishness leads to loneliness. I do not want selfish people around me. I will pack up and leave too. Let those selfish people die alone. Perhaps that is what they want. So “Let it be” is their preference, so you die alone with your antiquated attitude of “me, myself and I” instead of us and them together. God help us with our attitude.
