Tan Holdings FC drew twin goals from Kin Hei Chung to eke out a 3-2 win over Shirley’s FC in the Division B game in the 2012 NMIFA Men’s Spring League last week at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

Chung notched all two goals for Tan Holdings in the second half, foiling Shirley’s bid for a draw. Chung scored his first goal in the 53rd minute, giving Tan Holdings a 2-0 lead. Earlier in the first half, Panapa Peteru found the back of the net at the 37th-minute mark.

Shirley’s then moved within one when Michael Moran broke his team’s silence in the 72nd minute. However, Chung gave Tan Holdings’s more breathing room with his second goal in the 70th minute.

The score remained at 3-1 for Tan Holdings for more than 10 minutes before Shirley’s threatened the former anew with Marc Mora making a goal in the 85th minute. However, Tan Holdings went on to preserve the lead and the win after playing good defense in the closing minutes.

With the win, Tan Holdings now has a 5-2-0 win-draw-loss record, while the first victory remains elusive for Shirley’s (0-1-5).

After beating Shirley’s, Tan Holdings played its second game in Week 7 last Sunday and forced a 1-1 draw against Korean Football Association on Saipan. Chung logged his third goal of the week, scoring in the 23rd minute for the equalizer. Chong Koo Gil drew first blood for KFAS, nailing a goal just six minutes into the game.

In other results last Sunday, Wild Bill’s retained its perfect record in Division A after downing Paire.

Jack Thoensaket had one goal each in the first and second half for Wild Bill’s, which got its sixth win in as many games. Don Cabrera drilled the lone goal for Paire, which dropped to third from second place in Division A with its 2-2-2 card.

Paire lit up the scoreboard first with Cabrera finding the back of the net in the 13th minute. Thoensaket answered in the 31st minute and the halftime ended in a tie. Then Thoensaket broke the deadlock with his second goal five minutes before the match wrapped up.

In another Division A match, Inter Godfather’s shut out SKY.

The win gave Inter a 2-2-1 record and second place in the team standings.

Neither team scored in the first half of the opening game last Sunday and the drought continued early in the second half before Arkie Reusora broke the ice with his goal in the 55th minute. Then two minutes later, Matt Holley also scored, giving Inter a 2-0 cushion, which it preserved in the remainder of the match, as SKY was still off on offense.
