Team TakeCare/FHP/Grace Christian Academy
The Marianas March Against Cancer being a worthy cause is what encouraged TakeCare/FHP employees and Grace Christian Academy students to form a team and support the largest annual cancer fundraising event in the CNMI.
“We find it a huge honor to be a part of MMAC and in helping raise awareness in the fight against cancer, as well as the opportunity to raise funds toward finding a cure,” said the team led by captains Diane M. Sablan and Beth Nunez.
The team’s favorite part of the MMAC event is the lighting of the luminaries, which honors those who are “bravely fighting the fight” and to “remember those who have passed on.”
“It is a very special and emotional moment for everyone,” Team TakeCare/FHP/GCA stated.
Team members expressed excitement about their theme this year, “Each Minute is a Victory,” with their tent to feature sports-related activities. The group will make available at their tent sports items, glow-in-the-dark bracelets, and other items for the public to enjoy.
Team TakeCare/FHP/GCA encouraged families and community members to bring their children to enjoy their exciting games and to purchase items to raise funds for cancer awareness in the Commonwealth.
The team noted that “survivors are our heroes” and they are “incredibly proud” to have a partnership for the 2012 MMAC. “It’s an event worth taking part in.”
