In a move to help more low-income families, Sandy Beach Homes, the CNMI’s first Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) residential complex, announces recent changes to help reduce move-in costs for tenants.

The complex is now offering a used furniture rent-to-own package for tenants. In addition, the one-month security deposit is now payable over the term of the 12-month lease agreement, with the first payment of $60 due to reserve a unit.

“In light of the current economic situation, we understand families and individuals need as much help as we can offer to help them enjoy a safe, secure, and comfortable home,” said Sandy Beach Homes managing [artner Bob Jones. “Along with our rent reduction last month, these changes will make it easier for households to avail of our excellent homes.”

The recent changes come on the heels of a rental reduction last month to $695/month.

Sandy Beach Homes is funded under the federal LIHTC housing program through Northern Marianas Housing Corporation.

Each three-bedroom, two-bath home also features a number of energy conservation features, including a solar hot water heater and insulated double-paned windows. Other features of the home include an in-unit washer and dryer, A/C, water purification system, and ceiling fans in every room.

The refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher are Energy Star® rated. Additional amenities include security cameras, a balcony overlooking Saipan’s western lagoon, a parking garage, typhoon shutters, and a large standby generator with automatic power switch. There are also four ADA units available.

The used furniture rent-to-own package set includes three twin beds, two loveseats, chairs, nightstands, and lamps.

Interested individuals may visit the model home located in unit #210 from 9:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and from 8am to 12pm on Saturdays.

The Sandy Beach Homes complex sits in the heart of Chalan Kanoa, within walking distance of stores, banks, schools, churches, and the main post office.

The opportunity to stay at Sandy Beach Homes is open to all legal CNMI residents, including non-U.S. citizens, as long as income and other eligibility requirements are met. Families or unrelated individuals in a group living arrangement may apply as a household.

Applications, a list of required documents, and details about the homes can be found at www.sandybeachhomes.net. Applicants are encouraged to bring their applications for assistance.
