MMAC committee honors Dr. Jack Hardy
Members of the 2012 Marianas March Against Cancer committee presented Dr. Jack Hardy, owner and operator of Images Saipan, Ltd., with a plaque of appreciation recognizing his years of service as a committee member and senior adviser.
“Your commitment to our vision of a cancer-free CNMI is truly appreciated,” reads the plaque given to Hardy on March 20.
Catherine Attao-Toves, 2012 MMAC overall committee chair, described Hardy as a “tireless adviser” to the committee since the event’s inception 10 years ago.
In fact, Images Saipan is one of the major sponsors for this year’s event slated for April 27 to 28 at the Hopwood Jr. High School field in Chalan Piao.
“The expert photography services he provides to the MMAC and the Commonwealth Cancer Association is admirable,” said Attao-Toves.
She disclosed that Hardy was also instrumental in initiating the first American Cancer Society Relay for Life in the CNMI, which was before the time of MMAC.
“The MMAC committee is extremely grateful for the guidance and leadership Dr. Hardy has provided us all these years and we’d like to recognize his efforts in the fight against cancer by bestowing on him this unique and significant honor,” said Attao-Toves.
MMAC is the largest annual cancer fundraising event in the CNMI and the signature fundraising of CCA, a volunteer-led non-profit organization that promotes cancer awareness through patient support services, awareness programs, and other cancer-related activities.
