Last call for S.T.E.M. grant applications
Schools throughout Guam and CNMI were provided application information through school administrators. To be considered for the 2012 cycle, submit all applications by April 18 to education@afeca-marianas.org. The selection committee will announce the winners at the Marianas TechNet 2012 Island Fiesta on April 26, 2012, at Two Lovers Point overlooking Tumon Bay in Guam.
Each year, the AFCEA Marianas Chapter awards $1,000 grants to eligible K-12 schools through its S.T.E.M. Teacher Grant program. The chapter canvasses educators across the Marianas Islands soliciting teacher submissions and selects those whose programs can benefit from the grants. The chapter has awarded $12,000 to schools in the region since 2010. Corporate sponsorship of the grant program is always welcomed and has allowed us to provide even more assistance in the past.
Marianas TechNet 2012, “New Focus on the Western Pacific: Convergence of Strategy and Technology for the 21st Century,” is the fourth consecutive Technology Conference and Expo, organized by AFCEA Marianas. Proceeds from TechNet events support the chapter’s S.T.E.M. grant program.
More information about Marianas TechNet 2012, conference agenda and panel topics are available for viewing at www.marianas-technet.org. Conference fee is $35. Pre-registration can also be done at the event website.
