The Northern Marianas College Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service is inviting members of the community to attend free presentations about aquaculture on Saipan and Rota.

The first presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 25, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm in Room D-1 at the NMC As Terlaje campus on Saipan. The next presentation will take place on Friday, April 27, from 1pm to 4pm in the NMC-CREES Building at the NMC Rota Instructional Site.

Dr. Benny Ron, aquaculture program coordinator from the University of Hawaii, will present information on food security and appropriate aquaculture systems. In addition, Ron will introduce participants to UH’s Aquaculture Training On-line Learning, or ATOLL program, and the worldwide AquacultureHub social network.

The ATOLL program is a training program designed to help individuals start their own fish farms by providing online educational instruction, resources and support. The AquacultureHub is a unique social network that aims to connect people interested in aquaculture with others who have similar interests.
