Do Re Mi Music School to hold 21st violin recital
The DO RE MI Music School will be holding its 21st Violin Recital on April 28 and 29, from 7pm to 9pm, at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.
Students of the school will be performing moving pieces composed by Beethoven, Charles Dancla, M. Ravel, Pablo de Sarasate, Fritz Kreisler, J. Brahms, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Johannes Sebastian Bach, and more. There will also be special dances to entertain the crowd.
Through this annual violin recital, the DO RE MI Music School hopes to show how wonderful the students’ performances are, and also to raise funds to help them participate in future violin competitions to assist them in realizing their music dreams.
“We are willing to do our best to help these talented children to have an opportunity to display their talents, but the competitions require a lot of funds, such as registration fees, airline tickets, accommodations, etc. An international competition generally requires six months to one year of preparation, so the family and the school requires a lot of time to prepare the competition and provide financial support,” said school founder and principal Ao Zhang. “DO RE MI Music School is a private school, so we do not have government financial support. Some students in our school are very talented but they cannot afford the cost of all the competitions, so we hope that some companies can give them support.”
Tickets are $5 for children ages 5-12 and $10 for those ages 12 and older. Due to the concentration required for the students to perform, the school is requesting that only those ages 5 and older be allowed into the venue.
The Do Re Mi Music School is a professional violin school founded by Ao Zhang on Saipan in 1991. Ao Zhang graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music in China with a bachelor’s degree major in violin.
