Elias holds off Familia, 13-10
Elias outlasted Familia, 13-10, in Monday’s Chamolinian Softball Association 2012 Budweiser Slow Pitch Softball League men’s pairing held at the Capitol Hill Ballfield.
The win put Elias in a tie for third place with Manelos. Both teams share identical 3-1 win-loss cards and trail only Natibu (5-0) and Man Amigos (4-0) in the standings.
Behind them are Your Balls (3-1), Berdax (3-2), Gagu Eyez (3-2), X-clusive (3-3), Six Pack (2-2), G-Ballers (2-3), Familia (2-4), Saipal (2-4), The Warriors (1-3), Talu Fahn (1-5), and Managaha (0-5).
Meanwhile, in women’s play Sakudi routed Enamo Meta, 14-4, in five innings and are back in the saddle after enduring a pair of surprising losses.
Although women’s frontrunner Check It Out is also still flawless with four wins, Sakudi’s (3-2) win closed the gap a little, while the 670 Babes (1-2), The Rookies (1-3), and Enamo Meta (1-4) fill out the rest of the order.

Elias 13, Familia 10[/B]
Elias’ Gary Cruz cranked out a three-run home run in the top of the first inning for an early lead.
Elias then went ahead, 7-1, in the second inning off four hits and an error, while Jose Iguel bagged an RBI single and Myron Sablan a two-RBI double.
Familia fired back in the bottom frame with four runs off errors and a two-run blast.
The count shifted to 8-6 as both teams added a run in the third and Familia pulled within a run thanks to a base smash by J.D. Dikito in the fourth inning.
Elias managed a run to start the fifth from an RBI single by Cruz, but Familia tied it at 9-all in the bottom frame with a two-run homer by Pat Guerrero.
Elias’ Ralph Magofna lifted a solo shot in the sixth and his teammates J.P. Sablan and B.J. Nicolas hammered RBI singles followed up with a sacrifice fly by Cruz in the top half of the seventh to give their team a 13-9 lead heading into the final stand.
Elias’ Cruz batted 3-for-3 with five RBIs and two runs.

Sakudi 14, Enamo Meta 4[/B]
Sakudi broke out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning off six hits. Cleanup batter Bert Camacho busted an RBI double, while Rachel Salalila and Kiki Aldan bagged RBI singles.
Enamo Meta mustered two runs to start the second, but Sakudi surged ahead, 11-2, in the bottom frame off another hits.
Sakudi’s Camacho and Thelma Mizer hustled around for back to back in the park home runs; the former went for three runs and another teammate belted a two-RBI triple later in the inning.
Enamo could only come up with another couple of runs in the bottom portion and Sakudi added two more runs in the top of the third from an RBI single by Liz Lebria and a triple by Camacho, which she tried to stretch all the way a home, but was nailed out at the plate.
Sakudi’s defense held strong in the late innings and Juanette Atalig drove in the run needed to earn the early decision.
Sakudi’s Camacho batted 3-for-3 with five RBIs and two runs.
