The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will soon be offering an after-school ukulele program for students 8 years or older.

The program, which aims to teach students a new skill, is in partnership with the Arts Council.

Classes will be held Thursdays, 4pm to 5pm, from April 12 to May 31 at the public library’s Children of Our Homeland Center in Susupe.

Larry Lee will serve as the class instructor for the entire eight weeks.

Each student must pay the $40 fee in advance or $20 every four weeks to be paid on April 12 and on May 10.

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis and the class must have at least 20 students and a maximum of 40 students.

Students have to provide their own ukuleles and a folder, preferably a three-ring binder with plastic sheet protectors, to hold music sheets.

Parents and guardians are requested to sign a liability waiver form and are encouraged to adhere to public library policies and procedures.

To sign up or for more information, visit the public library, log in to www.cnmilibrary.com or call 235-7316, 7322 or 7323.
