Property taxes

The only way to channel the plight of the Retirement Fund problem into a course of action that will lead to solutions is to jerk the dormant mentality of the major players in government. If the casino industry is out of the question, then we should think about property taxes as the panacea that will help the government pay its employer’s contribution to the Retirement Fund. The question is, who in the ruling class of this government with the fortitude to take this route to fruition? Property tax is a major revenue source for state or local government jurisdictions. Why is the CNMI government dismissing this important revenue source? Let the discussion begin and start from there. Someone has to pay for the government’s existence.
