Telecommunications company IT&E has been named the latest Pacifica sponsor for the 31st Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival to be hosted by the Arts Council next month.

Marketing manager Hans Mickelson presented $2,000 cash and $3,000 worth of in-kind donations to festival committee members in a brief ceremony at the IT&E Chalan Lau Lau office yesterday.

The Pacifica sponsorship status is given to companies, organizations or individuals who provide monetary or in-kind donations worth $5,000 or more.

Mickelson said IT&E has been supporting the Flame Tree Arts Festival for about a decade now or back when it was still known as Verizon and is once again happy to support the annual event.

“The festival is an opportunity for the public to view the great works of art of our local artists and, at the same time, a chance for people to get together and enjoy the program, be with friends, and have a great time,” he added.

The Flame Tree Arts Festival is the biggest annual festival celebrating the rich art and cultural heritage of the Commonwealth. The 31st edition of the festival will be held at the Civic Center Park in Susupe from April 20 to 22.

During the three-day event, IT&E will set up a booth where festival goers can purchase prepaid phones and prepaid cards.

Arts Council executive director Angel S. Hocog expressed on behalf of the festival committee their gratitude for the “unwavering support” of one of the long-standing sponsors of the annual event.

“IT&E’s $5,000 sponsorship undoubtedly recognizes its commitment in the perpetuation of local arts and culture,” he said. (Clarissa V. David)
