Triple J steps up for 2012 MMAC
Triple J Enterprises, which owns several businesses on island including restaurants, a retail store, and car dealership, is sponsoring for the first time the annual Marianas March Against Cancer in April.
Jay Santos, Triple J Saipan marketing manager, presented the company’s $1,000 donation for this year’s event slated for April 27 to 28, 6pm to 6am at the Hopwood Jr. High School field.
Santos, who handed the donation to the 2012 MMAC committee members at the Triple J Super Fresh Market yesterday, thanked and congratulated the committee on behalf of Triple J founder Robert “Bob” Jones and the Jones family for organizing a worthwhile cause.
“Cancer is a horrible thing,” said Santos. “Unfortunately, the Triple J family has had members challenged with this disease and it is only fitting that we support this year’s MMAC and future functions as well.”
“I hope causes like this will help find a cure for cancer which has been around way too long,” added Santos.
Catherine Atttao-Toves, overall committee chair, said it is always great to have new sponsors come on board to support the largest and signature fundraising event of the Commonwealth Cancer Association.
“We greatly appreciate the support and contribution that Triple J is giving us. We thank them for their generosity,” she said.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of MMAC, a 12-hour overnight event that features teams competing for various prizes, selling of luminaries, shirts, and raffle tickets to raise funds to fight cancer in the Commonwealth.
