BEH shuts down one in September

The Commonwealth Health Care Corp.’s Bureau of Environmental Health shut down one restaurant in September for serious violations of health and sanitation standards. In a press statement yesterday about the establishments it inspected in September, BEH said that the Pier Restaurant in Gaparan was allowed to reopen three days after being shut down on Sept. 3 once the bureau’s concerns had been resolved.

BEH conducts sanitary inspections on retail, eating, and drinking establishments ever month. Each establishment are inspected and graded on a scale that ranges from “A” to “C” and those that are closed down for serious violations of health and sanitation standards.

BEH’s classification for food safety are: Grade A (90-100), Grade B (80-89), Grade C (70-79), and closure/suspension (69 and lower).
