Woman seeks police help against alleged violent, abusive ex-husband
Police arrested early last week a man who allegedly broke into the residence of his former common-law wife in Koblerville and also threatened to kill her and her son.
Joey C. Duenas, 31, was taken to the Superior Court Wednesday on charges of criminal trespass, assault, and disturbing the peace.
A $1,000 cash bail was initially imposed for his temporary release.
Detective Flora Danica B. Aguon stated in her report that on Monday afternoon the victim was lying on the bed with her son.
The victim was surprised upon seeing Duenas standing in front of her bedroom door.
The victim asked Duenas to leave, but the defendant, who smelled of alcoholic beverage, started yelling profanity at her.
The victim was scared considering that the defendant is allegedly really abusive especially when high on drugs.
Duenas walked out of the house, stood in the yard and started yelling “This girl is worth $2!”
Duenas then left and promised he would come back.
The victim called the police. She told an officer that Duenas had threatened to kill her and her son if she finds someone else.
Detective Aguon said when the officer arrested Duenas later that afternoon in Kobleville, he was breathing heavily and was clenching his fist.
