The new place to be on Saipan
Oceanside Bar n’ Grill is gradually carving a name as the new place to be on Saipan, attracting the attention of a growing number of customers wandering the island in quest of a restaurant serving great food in a casual atmosphere.
Conveniently located in Garapan, Oceanside Bar n’ Grill stands proud at what was once the setting for an ordinary bar which has been transformed into a fresh and spacious neighborhood spot with minimalist décor and subdued lighting.
It was on Feb. 20 when owner Marilyn Ronquillo first opened the doors of Oceanside Bar n’ Grill to the community albeit without much fanfare, relying mainly on word-of-mouth recommendations from a handful of diners stopping by.
Still, Oceanside Bar n’ Grill has found a way to make a name for itself and will surely grow into one of the hotspots down town as it holds its grand opening tonight. This place offers a selection of delightful appetizers and scrumptious entrees that can be paired with any of their cocktail and non-alcoholic drinks—all at very affordable prices.
“We’re offering a variety of food choices in a laid-back venue for an enjoyable dining experience for all our customers,” said Ronquillo, who moved about a year ago from Oceanside, California, the namesake for this new place that’s buzzing even on a weeknight.
According to Ronquillo, she and her husband enjoy spending their time going out and dining in restaurants that give them their money’s worth for the ambiance and quality of food. When they moved to Saipan, she thought of starting a business that they themselves can appreciate, giving birth to Oceanside Bar & Grill which serves highly popular and well-loved dishes on island with a twist.
Try their poki, cubed fresh tuna with a hint of sesame oil and topped with spring onions ($8) or go with the flaming creamy baked mussels served in a sizzling plate ($6). The generous serving of beef short ribs entrée comes with salad and a scoop of rice ($8). Complimentary nacho chips with homemade salsa are also served to patrons waiting for their order to come in.
Oceanside Bar N’ Grill also boasts of its own alcohol concoctions with its extensive list of cocktails such as Oceanside Breeze, Saipan Sunburn, and Monthly Red as well as shooters. Enjoy Happy Hour rates for domestic beers ($2.50) and imported beers ($3.50) from 5pm to 7pm. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
For today’s grand opening, Ronquillo said they will now include in their menu options Mexican dishes like tacos, burritos, and fajitas which are all expected to be among their bestsellers.
“Gradually, we will add in more dishes to our menu to give our customers an array of food choices that will keep them coming back for more—whether for family dinner or a night out,” she added.
With its spacious venue, Oceanside Bar n’ Grill also caters to party reservations for any occasion as it can accommodate up to 100 individuals. Darts, pool table, and Wi-Fi available.
“We’re inviting everyone to try out Oceanside Bar n’ Grill for sumptuous food at affordable prices,” said Ronquillo.
