Beautify My Marianas goes to Koblerville

Eight friends from Marianas High School took the Marianas Visitors Authority’s Beautify My Marianas program to Koblerville on Jan. 24, 2015, cleaning a mile of widely travelled—and heavily trashed—oadway.

“We collected betel nut spit bottles, stained shirts, and a box of butane gas. There was more that we collected that was so off the top,” said participant Jordan R. Pangilinan in the group’s post-action report. “One of our obstacles was facing those dogs chasing us through the side of the road, but that didn’t stop us…”

The group picked up debris from St. Jude Parish to the Mobil gas station. Cleanup participants were Pangilinan, Jesse Salalila, Edson Yalung, Michael Andres, Mike Batangan, Glendon Saburo, Jeremi Monterejo, Jasper Colegio, and Reence Calage. The group treated themselves to pizza after their hard effort.
