Mobil Oil has been named the latest major sponsor of the 2012 Marianas March Against Cancer, joining a growing list of corporations supporting the largest annual cancer fundraising event in the Northern Mariana Islands. Major sponsorship is conferred on companies that donate $1000-$2999 in cash or services. “The 2012 Marianas March Against Cancer committee is extremely grateful to the staff and management of Mobil Oil for their generous support in the fight against cancer. Their $1000 donation is deeply appreciated,” said 2012 MMAC overall committee chair Catherine Attao-Toves.

The Marianas March Against Cancer is the signature fundraising activity of the Commonwealth Cancer Association, a volunteer-led non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that ensures all funds raised are spent entirely in the CNMI on cancer patient support services, cancer awareness programs and other cancer-related activities.

“We currently have 14 teams selling luminaries, raffle tickets and other items so please contact them if you wish to support the fight against cancer. Our 14 teams are 302nd F.R.G., Ahu, ALAI/Saipan Community School, Aschoscho, Bodig, #FREEDAVE, IT&E/Saipan Southern High School, Joeten/Marianas High School, Marriage Encounter, NMPASI, Pacific Islands Club, Saipan Health Clinic/St. Jude Renal Care Facility, Take Care/Grace Christian Academy and Tan Holdings/Kagman High School,” said Attao-Toves.

The 2012 Marianas March Against Cancer will be held on April 27-28 from 6pm to 6am at the Hopwood Junior High School in Chalan Piao. For more information call 285-1828, email attaoc@yahoo.com or visit www.ccamarianas.org. (MMAC)
