After the title fights, a heavyweight main event brawl caps off the evening between Trench Tech’s Mylo “Bam Bam” Lassiter (4-1) and Guam’s Pete “Big Mac” Miyasaki (1-0).
In related news, Trench Tech’s Josh “Chaos” Duenas fought valiantly in a losing effort in his Pacific Xtreme Combat 30 bout against Guam’s Trevon Jones.
Duenas was submitted via rear-naked chokehold in the first round of the 135-lb match.
Notably, Duenas was hemmed up very tight. But simply would nit tap and the fight was called off after he temporarily lost consciousness. His coach and mentor Cuki Alvarez attested that Duenas recovered swiftly and did not suffer any damage at all.
“Of course the outcome was not what we were hoping for, but [Duenas] fought like a warrior and literally left it all on the mat,” expressed Alvarez upon their return.
According to Alvarez, Duenas was actually the aggressor in the standup game just after the opening bell.
In addition, Trench Tech would like to thank some more supporters who are helping the organization recover after its training gym burned down last Feb. 8.
Trench Tech received a $1,000 check donation from Financial & Insurance Services Group, Inc. last week and received another donation just recently from Fokai Guam.
“I would like to thank FISG president Sheryl Sizemore Camacho and her staff as well as Fokai Guam and all of our other supporters in the community for helping us recover from this dreadful set back. We are humbled a grateful and remain steadfast in our quest to rise and rebuild,” stated Alvarez in an email last week.
