The Philippine Overseas Labor Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration will have a new office next month.

Welfare officer Julie Fabian confirmed yesterday that they will move to the Filipino Workers Resource Center at Room 106 of the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe by April.

Fabian said they received official instructions from their main office in Manila regarding their transfer, part of cost-cutting measures.

“It’s only practical given that there are only two of us left in the office,” she told Saipan Tribune.

At present, POLO and OWWA are holding offices in Room 105. Only Fabian and another staff, Antonette Rosario Ocon, are in charge of both offices.

Fabian noted that their ongoing training courses will not be affected by their office transfer. She said the classes will continue at FWRC since they will be staying in the next room, which has enough space to accommodate them and the computer equipment used for the computer courses.

According to Fabian, they will start moving their equipment and files with the help of Filipino volunteers by Monday.

“But we would like to emphasize to all the members of the Filipino community that until the end of this month, we will still offer our services at our current office in Room 105,” Fabian noted.
