Delta named major sponsor of arts festival
The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture has announced that Delta Air Lines became their second “Pacifica” sponsor for the 31st Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival celebration in April.
Delta Air Lines donated two Economy Class round-trip tickets to anywhere in the U.S.
Chris A. Concepcion and Esther Sound, Delta Air Lines sales and marketing representatives, were joined by passenger service ground handlers as they presented the donation to festival committee members in a brief ceremony at their check-in counter at Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport on March 1.
The donation, valued at a little over $6,500 based on the farthest possible destination in a one-year-maximum-stay fare, makes Delta Air Lines a “Pacifica” or major sponsor for the 31st Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival slated for April 20 to 22 at the Civic Center Park in Susupe.
Pacifica is the highest level of sponsorship for the festival and is given to companies, organizations or individuals who provide monetary or in-kind donation worth $5,000 or more.
Delta Air Lines operates a mainline fleet of more than 700 aircrafts and flies to 341 destinations in 61 countries across six continents, serving over 160 million customers around the world each year.
“Delta Air Lines has been a strong supporter of the arts for many years now and we are proud once again to be named title sponsors of the Flame Tree Arts Festival,” said Delta’s Concepcion. “We wish the organizing committee the best of luck as they prepare for this great event.”
Arts Council executive director Angel S. Hocog, for his part, said he is delighted to have Delta Air Lines come on board to support the CNMI’s biggest annual festival celebrating its rich art and cultural heritage.
“Delta Air Lines’ sponsorship for the Flame Tree Arts Festival each year shows the company’s continued and unparalleled commitment in further developing arts and culture in the CNMI,” said Hocog. “We look forward to nurturing this meaningful relationship between the Arts Council and the Delta Air Lines in this year’s festival and beyond.”
