The federal court granted yesterday the request of the U.S. Probation Office to delay the sentencing of Franz B. Reksid, a former Department of Public Lands special assistant who was found guilty of accepting a $3,000 bribe from a private company that obtained a federally funded contract from DPL.

U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona said that Reksid’s sentencing hearing will be moved from March 13, 2012 to April 24, 2012.

Manglona gave the U.S. Probation Office until today, March 6, to file a presentence investigation report.

U.S. Probation Officer Margarita Wonenberg on Thursday made the request to reset the sentencing hearing to allow her to complete the presentence investigation report.

In September 2011, a federal jury found the 71-year-old Reksid guilty of one count of bribery concerning a program receiving federal funds.
