Manelos held off G-Ballers, 20-18, in Monday’s Chamolinian Softball Association 2012 Budweiser Slow Pitch Softball League men’s division matchup held at the Capitol Hill Ballfield.

In other results, Elias brushed aside Talu Fahn, 16-4, in five innings, while Check It Out defeated 670 Babes, 11-2, in the women’s division.

No games were scheduled the rest of the week, however the season will resume at 6:30pm on Monday with Familia squaring off against Saipan in the men’s division followed at 7:30pm with a women’s pairing featuring Sakuid versus Enamo Meta. The men then take the field again in the late match between Man Amigos and Your Balls.

Elias jumped all over Talu Fahn with a pair of eight-run gashes in the first and second innings.

They bashed nine hits in the opening frame and followed them with a two-run homerun by J.P. Sablan, solo shots from B.J. Nicolas and Gary Cruz, and four other hits.

Talu Fahn tried to get things going in the third frame, but Elias rebounded on defense to keep a lid on them. Talu Fahn fell short of avoiding the early decision after leaving a runner stranded at second in the next two innings.

Elias’ Sablan batted 3-for-3 with a homerun, three RBIs, and two runs.

Check It Out 11, 670 Babes 2

Check It Out led 4-1 after two innings off a sacrifice fly by Jovie Omar, an RBI base hit by Kayna Rogopes, and some errors in the opening frame.

Check It Out’s Raylani Ogumoro drove in another run in the fourth inning before their top of the lineup blew open the game with six runs in the fifth frame.

Keolani Rios reached on a fielder’s choice and later stole home, Connie Camacho and Shirley Ada each belted RBI singles, and the other runs came in off errors.

Manelos 20, G-Ballers 18

Manelos clung to a slim 13-12 edge after three innings and hung on to the lead, 16-15, in the fourth inning off a shot-run blast by Past Alepuyo.

Both teams left the yard in the fifth inning, and although the G-Ballers fought tooth and nail, scoring in every frame up that point, the Manelos always seemed to have an answer.

Manelos’ Derrick Abraham hammered a clutch two-run homer in the sixth inning and somehow silenced the G-Ballers in the final stand.

Manelos’ Abraham batted 3-for-4 with a homerun for three RBIs and two runs, while Shane Mendiola went 3-for-3 with two homeruns for five RBIs and two runs.

G-Ballers’ Asap Ogumoro swung 3-for-4 with three homers for six RBIs and three runs.
