DEQ brigade turns eye to Hidden Beach

The Division of Environmental Quality’s cleanup brigade will be picking up trash at Hidden Beach in Talafofu, Saipan this Saturday, March 3, 2012, starting at 8am.

If you would like to volunteer, meet the DEQ representatives on Saturday at the Kingfisher Golf entrance. Volunteers will split into groups and clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed.

This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will get a brigade cap and those who participated in at least three cleanups will get a green brigade t-shirt.

Last month, the Feb. 4 cleanup at Tank Beach had over 35 volunteers participating. Thanks to Hopwood’s STUCO members, Kagman High School, Laolao Bay Golf/MAFEA, CUC, Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity, and other volunteers, 380 lbs of trash was removed from the beach and properly disposed of. D&Q provided refreshments.

For more information about volunteering, contact the DEQ office at 664-8500/1. (DEQ)
