The Hoe Lokahi Outrigger Club clinic is hosting a free paddling clinic on Feb. 18 starting 9am at Kilili Beach.

The purpose of the clinic is to promote the group’s recruitment efforts.

Event organizers will go over the history of paddling, introduce the different parts of an outrigger canoe, and explain proper canoeing etiquette with the participants before heading out into the water.

The clinic is open to the public and can be beneficial for both experienced and beginner paddlers.

The activity can be used as good practice for experienced paddlers who want to brush up on their stroke, while beginners will get an opportunity to learn from the Hoe Lokahi coaches.

Additional membership information will also be made available.
