Hoping for answers

I write this trying to keep my eyes from watering up and wishing the Romero family strength. I read about Emerita Romero’s body being found at La Fiesta. I couldn’t help but flash back to the early ’90s. We lost a daughter, cousin, and mother to sexual assault on Saipan and until this day her case remains cold. Her body was thrown over a cliff, left to rot in the ocean. By the time she was found, she was nearly decomposed and buried in a folded up body bag. Her son, now graduating high school in the mainland, never got the chance to know his mother or for her to see him grow into the young man he is today. With that said, I hope for answers for Emerita Romero’s family. I pray that their questions, combined with the technology of today, are answered and that they find peace. I would never want anyone to feel the pain and unrest that our family continues to feel today with an unsolved case and no answers.
