The Chamolinian Softball Association has penciled in Feb. 24 as the opening day for its 3rd Annual Budweiser Slow Pitch Softball League at the Capitol Hill Ballfield.

Organizers are holding a mandatory coaches and team representatives meeting at 6pm today, Feb. 8, at the pavilion behind the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium to go over ground rules and other important details.

The entrance fee to participate is $400 per team and the first teams to pay in full will be allotted slots.

This year there will be 15 men’s teams and five women’s squads.

Last year, the Man Amigos swept its finals matches and advanced to the men’s finals in first place. The team faced Natibu, who also advanced through its bracket unbeaten.

Natibu took Game 1, 29-25, and forced a rematch for all the marbles. Man Amigos, however, pulled it together in Game 2 and squeaked by, 22-21, to clinch its first championship in five years.

Meanwhile, Sakudi dominated the ladies field all year long and stamped an exclamation point to the end of its season in the form of a 28-3 shellacking over Check It Out.
