Oneshot leads Islander Tag 8-Ball tourney
Oneshot’s Ron Chisato and Ed Suzuki are leading the 19th Hole Bar’s Islander Tag Team 8-Ball Tournament after completion of the second round games last weekend in Puerto Rico.
After two matchups, Oneshot is leading the eight-team pack with 10 points, while a handful of challengers are still well within contention. The frontrunners downed Leonize-79’s Leornard Saban and Nizer Masayas, 6-1. Notably, there is a three way tie for second place as Elaus’ Taylor Watanabe and John Mongami, Ynot’s Nolas Kaliga and Ben Norita, Tasi’s Oscar Sablan and Blas all have eight points. D2Pats’ Pat Cepeda and Pat Taitano and IDK’s Gus Taitano and Ken Phillips both have seven points, while IDC’s Norman Tenorio and Quinton Ngirarois have four points. Leonize-79 has one point.
Last weekend, Y-Not bested IDK, 4-2; Tasi defeated Elaus, 4-2; and D2Pats downed IDC, 4-2. Round three begins at 7:30pm tonight.
The event is formatted as a best-of-three games series with two-person teams. Each team member plays a singles match followed by a doubles pairing, with each rack counted as one point. Cash prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 placers.
