The Turtle Advocate and Guardian Society, or TAGS, a local group concerned about the alarming decline in the sea turtle population, will be hosting its second annual exhibit and sale of photography and art in March.

According to TAGS vice president Mark Robertson, “This is one of our more important fundraisers. Last year, several local people saw this as a great chance to support local artists while also doing something positive for the environment. We had pieces in all price ranges, from those that made great gifts to those quite appropriate for adding to a serious collector’s compilation.”

Each photographer/artist is asked to donate 25 percent of the price of any items sold.

“Last year some artists voluntarily exceeded that, with donations as high as 50 percent of the purchase price,” Robertson said.

All pieces must be ready for hanging and for sale (TAGS will not frame or prepare any pieces). Interested artists may call Robertson at 235-5992, or email him at didgeridolphin@yahoo.com. More details will be made public as the time approaches. (TAGS)
