Fall league’s Best 11, Best 9 named

Thirty-one players made it to the elite list of players who showed outstanding performances in the 2011 NMIFA Youth Football Fall League.

Named to the Best 11 in the boys U15 are forwards Jehn Joyner and Ryota Ito of MP United Silver; midfielders Dakota Hall and Jake Lee of MP United Silver, Jireh Yobech of Matansa Football Club, and Jeff Cheon Palacios of Paire FC; defenders Kennedy Izuka, Enrico del Rosario, and John Taisacan of MP United Silver, and Kenneth Domingo of Tan Holdings FC; and goalkeeper Gregzon Fontanilla of MP United Silver.

The Norman Del Rosario-coached MP United dominated the Best of 11 as the team also ruled the round robin competition that ended last month and finished undefeated in six games.

Other teams that joined the boys U15 field were Paire, MP United Blue, and Shirley’s FC 1 and 2.

In the boys U18, MP United also reigned supreme in the three-club field and had five players earning slots to the Best of 11. The list includes forward Yi Shan Wang, midfielders Dae Min Jeon, Jeoung Joon Lee, and Jin Han Yoon, and defender Moon Bin Hong. Joining the MP United players in the selection were Paire forward Zhi Peng Lin, midfielder Timothy Tawanpiy, defenders Eric Devin Atalig, Raphael Zapanta, and Hae Sung Lee, and goalie Don Cabrera.

The girls U15 division had five clubs and four had representatives to the Best 9. Making the list are forwards Jeraldine Castillo of Shirley’s FC and Amy Taylor of MP United; midfielders Alexandria Vergara of Shirley’s FC and Seoung Hyun Lee and Hae Ri Kim of MP United; defenders Melody Johnson of Shirley’s FC and Juliana Muna and Mikaela Duenas of Paire FC; and goalie Masami Sato of MP United.

Shirley’s FC topped the girls U15 league with an unbeaten record, dethroning many-time champion Matansa.

Players on the cream of the crop were selected by coaches and will be receiving certificates for their notable performances.
