Little League meeting tomorrow
Saipan Little League Baseball, Incorporated is holding a 5:30pm meeting tomorrow at the pavilion behind the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
Topics to be discussed include finalizing membership documents and the 2012 team rosters and reviewing details about the required background checks of its current members. Sunday, Jan. 15, is the deadline for all active members to submit all paperwork before the SLL board transmits them to the Little League Baseball head office in Williamsport, PA.
Any interested parents or volunteers who want to get involved are welcome to attend the meeting. The membership drive will remain open until SLLBI’s targeted season opener, slated for Feb. 15 at the Oleai Sports Complex.
Over 600 players from over 30 teams are expected to turn out this year and the SLLBI officers and coaches need all the help that they can get.
“We are striving to bring the SLL program back to the high standard it once held and parents involvement is a vital component to accomplishing our goal. Thus we are inviting all of the parents to come out and lend a helping hand. Let’s work together for a successful 2012 season,” SLLBI president Juan I. Tenorio said in a recent phone interview.
