This Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, Marianas Agupa will feature Citizens for Changing Article 12 chair Efrain Camacho to talk about one of the stumbling blocks holding back economic development in the CNMI, from 10:am to 10:30am. The show starts at 9am and ends at 11am on Magic 100.3 FM.
The Chamorro radio talk show is hosted by Glenn H. Manglona. Featured reports are as follows: world report and program review by former mayor Joseph S. Inos and a report from Rota by Thomas D. Mendiola, a special segment called Hafa Mohon with Juanita Mendiola and a report from Tinian by former senator David M. Cing. The Division of Environmental Quality’s cleanup brigade will be picking up trash at Lao Lao Bay, Saipan this Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, starting at 8am.
If you would like to volunteer your time to clean and beautify our island, meet with the other volunteers at the new parking lot near the picnic area (also known as South Laolao Bay). Volunteers will split into groups and clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed.
This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated in at least three cleanups will receive a green brigade t-shirt. For more information about volunteering, contact the DEQ office at 664-8500/1. (DEQ)
[B]Chamber Installation Dinner on Jan. 21[/B]The 2012 Saipan Chamber of Commerce Officers and Directors Installation Dinner will be held this Jan. 21, 2012, at the Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan’s Hibiscus Hall. Jerry Tan, president of Tan Holdings, will be this year’s keynote speaker. The Chamber will also announce its 2011 Businessperson of the Year award recipient. SCC will continue with its Installation Dinner tradition and hold a silent auction to raise funds for the Scholarship Awards Program.
The deadline for nominations for Businessperson of the Year Award has been extended to Jan. 9, 2012.
