Rotary Club holds Christmas party
The Rotary Club of Saipan ended an eventful 2011 with a Christmas party that aimed to foster camaraderie and friendship among its members.
Some 50 Rotarians and guests took part in their holiday celebration held at the Hyatt Regency Saipan pool side on Dec. 20.
Tuesday’s event saw members of the service club, known primarily for its “Service Above Self” motto, enjoying various activities that were lined up to cultivate the rapport among members even beyond their humanitarian service to the CNMI.
The Rotarians were all laid back as they participated in exciting games, listened to live entertainment, moved to the beat, won exciting prizes in the raffle draw, and shared a delectable buffet.
“All year long, the Rotarians have been working very, very hard for the community. One of the rarest times we take our hats off and be ourselves and have a great time is our annual Christmas party. Through this, we all enjoy ourselves for the camaraderie. When we get back together again, we can all be full of energy again to continue our projects for the community,” Rotary president Pete Igitol told Saipan Tribune in an interview.
Igitol hopes that with the coming of a new year, the Rotary will be able to get more members “so that our help to the community will be exemplified.”
Asked for his wish for the Rotarians, Igitol replied, “Keep your hearts open. Go out and embrace the humanity.”
During the event, Rotary officers also presented to the Salvation Army some 50 toys that the club collected through their toy drive.
