DUI sobriety checkpoints on Tinian

The Department of Public Safety, Tinian Division, would like to inform the general public that the Traffic Section will be conducting DUI sobriety checkpoints on the dates and time listed below:
-Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, 8pm to 9:15pm: Westbound lane on Route 201 across from the Tinian Mayor’s Office.
-Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, 10pm to 11:15pm: Westbound lane on Route 202 by Huang Shung Supermarket.
-Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, 10pm to 11:15pm: Southbound lane along Broadway Road by Housing Turnkey.
-Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, 12am to 1:15am: Westbound lane on Route 202 by Huang Shung Supermarket.
Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes). Checkpoints are subject to be terminated if it begins to rain.
In addition, traffic officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions and laser (speed detection) enforcement.
This activity is part of the department’s effort to deter, detect and apprehend impaired drivers and to ensure that all vehicle occupants are wearing proper restraining devices, seatbelts, car seats, and occupant protection system.[I] (DPS)[/I]
