OAG seeks information from Rep. Palacios’ cellphone calls
The Office of the Attorney General is seeking information from IT&E regarding the telephone number used by Rep. Raymond Demapan Palacios for a certain period.
The Superior Court’s clerk of court issued a subpoena to IT&E upon OAG’s application pursuant to Commonwealth Rule of Criminal Procedure.
The court commanded IT&E to provide within seven days to the OAG’s Criminal Division, subscriber information, toll records, and call logs for Palacios’ cellphone for the period of Oct. 19, 2011.
The court informed IT&E that failure to comply with the subpoena may constitute the crime of contempt of court and a warrant may be issued for an arrest.
According to police reports, members of the Drug Enforcement Task Force and Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigation Bureau used a confidential source to buy a total of $200 worth of “ice” from Palacios in two transactions that occurred on Oct. 19, 2011.
Palacios, 48, is out on bail after posting $3,000 cash and $27,000 unsecured bond. Police arrested the lawmaker last October 28.
Palacios pleaded not guilty to the information charging him with trafficking and illegal possession of controlled substance.
