Wrong state of mind
I have called and offered legitimate employers our new direction and programs that can assist them to deal with their needs when the zero-down date nears. Legitimate employers are faced with a challenge to hire the best-qualified and available U.S. workers to meet their need.
This period provides the opportunity for U.S. workers to find, keep, and grow in career-oriented jobs that they would enjoy doing. There are so far over a thousand-some CW1 petitions that had been received. This means that these jobs will become available right around the corner and if the employers had no choice but to look at the U.S. worker pool so that they can supplement their daily and traditional business activities to succeed, they would want the best qualified worker to fill the need.
U.S workers must never believe that employers may not have a choice so work will be handed out as freebies to them. This is a wrong state of mind when you are on a job hunt. What it calls for is the challenge for all U.S. workers to better their job outlook so they can look, feel, and be the best during their competitive stages. All employers want the best worker who is trustworthy, dependable, and reliable in performing the job he/she was hired to do.
You need to look into what is motivating you for a job. Avoid the belief that you are only looking for a job to survive. It will present a barrier to employment, where employers would not want to hire you. They want to sense that you will stay when hired and that their company will benefit from you. Look into a possible career-oriented job. This is something that you start from the bottom of the career ladder transition and develop an upward mobility to achieve your goal.
How and what U.S. workers will wear, look, and appear in front of the employer is related to good attitude skills. Stop the belief that you can wear shorts, sleeveless shirt, stinky body and bad breath odor, wearing hats, uncombed hair, overkill jewelry and makeup when picking up and submitting applications at the employer’s place of business or during an interview process. Employers are always on the lookout for good grooming and appearance from candidate who appears at their place of business.
These are just a couple of tips for U.S. workers to know. The CNMI Department of Labor has developed programs to assist U.S. workers in improving their job outlook before referring them to an employer’s place of business. We will also link them with other agencies where they can acquire skills in enhancing their labor development.
