Ahead by 6-0, Matansa was still merciless as it drained three more goals in the last 20 minutes of the match with Gurung scoring in the 70th minute, Arkoh in the 77th, and Ruszala in the 90th.
Last Sunday’s game was Matansa’s second for the week, as it also dueled Korean Football Association on Saipan on Nov. 17 and was engaged in a scoreless draw.
In the other game at the Oleai pitch last Sunday, Tan Holdings FC also barged into the win column after beating Shirley’s FC in Group A, 6-1.
Jun Jie Cui led Tan Holdings with his three goals, while Chi Ming Tang, Ruselle Zapanta, and Delbert Greenman contributed one each. Tan Holdings drilled all its goals in the second half with Tang scoring in the 54th minute and then two minutes later, Zapanta also found the back of the net.
