Susupe Armatech notches third straight win
Susupe Armatech nailed its third victory in a row after beating Puerto Rico Triskelion, 66-48, last Sunday at the 2011 MDX Amateur Radio Club Inter-Village Friendship League at the Civic Center Basketball Court in Susupe.
Eugene Manglona led Armatech in the win, scoring 22 points, while James Abuy and Bruce Berline also finished in double figures, chipping in 15 and 12, respectively.
Puerto Rico kept pace with Susupe in the opening canto before the latter took full control of the match in the second period. Susupe led by only three after the first frame, 16-13, but recorded a double-digit edge at halftime, 37-26, as Abuy and Manglona scored nine points apiece in the second quarter.
Manglona continued to lead Susupe’s offense in the second half and he drew support from Berline, who logged six of his total makers in the fourth period to help their team walk away with an easy win.
Brandon Talania had 22 points for Puerto Rico, which has yet to win after three games in Pool A.

Tanapag 73, Koblerville 65[/B]
In another Pool A game, Tanapag/FGC Construction improved to a 2-2 record after downing Koblerville/GEC.
Edwin Santos canned nine of his 13 points in the payoff canto to lift Tanapag to the eight-point win and hand Koblerville its second loss in four matches.
Tanapag fell behind in the first half, 34-35, but drew points from seven different players in the third period to grab the upper hand, 53-45. Santos, who was scoreless in the first half, drilled only four points in the third before finding his rhythm in the fourth to keep Tanapag at bay.
[B]San Antonio 85, San Jose 43[/B]San Antonio/Gene’s Barber routed San Jose Blue Haus to gain a share of the lead in Pool A.
With its 3-1 record, San Antonio joins Garapan JHEM’S at the top of the team standings in their group. Pedro Castro led San Antonio with his 23 points, while Jaymark De Guzman contributed 20.
San Jose (0-3) took a slim lead in the first period, 12-11, but began collapsing when San Antonio’s young guns started speeding up the game in the second canto.

San Vicente 72, China Town 68[/B]
San Vicente Saints remained undefeated in two games after thwarting China Town (1-2) Slashers.
Travis Eubanks scored San Vicente’s first six points in the fourth quarter to half China Town’s rally, while Eric Cepeda and Luizi Reyes knocked in baskets in the homestretch to preserve the win.
[B]Chalan Kiya 68, Kagman 62[/B]Chalan Kiya/Loving Hands took its third win in four games after slipping past Kagman Destroyers.
Dante Tabora tallied eight of his 13 points in the fourth period and four others made it to the scoreboard for Chalan Kiya to hand Kagman its second loss in three games. James Kintz and Jason Bahillo also finished in double digits for Chalan Kiya, hitting 17 and 12 markers, respectively.
[B]San Roque 58, Gualo Rai 56[/B]San Roque Morales gained the solo lead in Pool B after outclassing Gualo Rai Blue Haus.
San Roque is still unbeaten in three games, thanks to its balance offense in the fourth quarter.
Seven different players produced at least one field goal for San Roque to foil Gualo Rai’s repeated comeback bids. Noel David paced San Roque with 12 points, while White Capalad added 11.
