Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s IT&E Voyagers and Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill’s Shark Attack remain in first place in their respective Agingan and Obyan divisions after the conclusion of Tuesday’s Saipan Billiard Association’s 2011 Summer/Fall Budweiser Open Eight Ball League matchups.

Agingan’s IT&E Voyagers are still nine games ahead of the pack despite absorbing a 3-4 upset in a road draw against sister team Home Boyz Five. IT&E Voyagers hold a 63-21 win-loss record, while Home Boyz Five improved to 48-36.

Runner-up IT&E Incredibles (54-30) gained a chunk of ground on the frontrunner following a 6-1 victory over VFW Post 3457’s X-Tream (22-62) at home in Sand’s Bar.

Third-ranked Docomo Hustlers (48-36) also moved into the green with a 5-2 home win over Joe’s Steakhouse’s Fotten Palau (19-65).

Docomo’s Senen Pangelinan has ran the table five times this season, while X-Tream’s Joseph Achas has twice sunk the 8-ball off the break.

Obyan’s Shark Attack downed 19th Hole Bar’s Poksu, 5-2, on the road and improved to 55-29.

Meanwhile, Team SCS (42-42) edged out sister team Crazy 8 (39-45), 4-3, in a home draw at Jonny’s to move into a two-way tie for second place.

Team SCS was let in the door thanks to a 1-6 upset at home in D’Pirates Bar against the 19th Hole’s Titans (31-51).

Team SCS’s Erwin Gomez and Crazy 8’s Rey Pinanagay have ran the table three times apiece, while Crazy 8’s Zaldy Quebral and Pirata’s Dave Maratita each sank the 8-ball once off the break.
