The Rotary Club of Saipan is gearing up for its annual Thanksgiving luncheon for the senior citizens.

“I know that this is a very important event and I need everybody’s participation,” Rotary treasurer Richard Cody said during the club’s general membership meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan yesterday.

Cody said he has spoken to Aging Office director Rose Mondala who expressed hope that the annual luncheon for the man’amko will push through.

Cody said they plan to hold the luncheon two days before Thanksgiving or on Nov. 22.

Although there are several Rotarians who will be off-island for the holiday, Cody nevertheless encouraged other members to take part in the planning and actual luncheon.

The Rotary Club of Saipan has been doing the Thanksgiving luncheon for over 20 years.

In last year’s luncheon, the Rotarians also raffled off prizes to the congregates.
