Dela Cruz, Norita top XGA monthly tourneys
Joey Dela Cruz and Ned Norita earned Ace of the Month honors after the conclusion of the X-Clusive Golf Association’s recent October and November events
Norita was crowned the November Ace in last Saturday’s event held at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
Norita hit the turn a stroke under par (35) and finished the back with a 42 for a 77 gross. His 7-handicap adjusted to a field low 70 net score.
John Reyes posted a 44 on the front to go with a 42 on the back for an 86 gross count, and while his 16-handicap gave him a 70 net tally, he settled for second place. Reyes was out of the running anyways as he won April Ace honors earlier in the season.
Meanwhile, Park Yong started out with a 43 on the front nine and finished with a 46 on the backside to scratch an 89 gross card and finished third place with a net 71.
In addition, November’s closest to the pin winners included Dung Tenorio on hole No. 3, Jerry Ayuyu on hole No. 12, while Tony Benavente Jr. took holes No. 7 and 14.
Back in October, Dela Cruz hit the turn at 2 over par (38) and managed a 41 on the back nine for a gross score of 79. His 12-handicap adjusted out to a 67 net score.
Dela Cruz ended up topping the field, three strokes ahead of Benavente Jr., who grossed an even 80 before the handicap adjustment.
Gerald Guerrero took a 42 on the front and finished the back with a 45 for a gross 87 that worked out into a 71 net score, good for third place.
October’s closest to the pin winners include Yasu Irinaka on hole No. 6, J.J. Atalig on hole No. 12, and Benavente Jr. on holes No. 8 and 15.
Next month XGA will combine the December Ace tourney with the season-ending Ace of Aces tournament. The venue and event date are still pending.
