GUAM—United Continental Holdings Inc. hosted its first sales and marketing meeting in Guam on Oct. 26-27, inviting 50 regional managers from throughout Asia to discuss the new United Airlines strategy for the region. The meeting took place at the Outrigger Guam Resort and Hyatt Regency Guam.

Countries represented included Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and Australia.

“I am delighted to bring our regional sales and marketing management to Guam, to not only discuss our strategies for the region, but to also take the opportunity to introduce the island as a focal point for our Asia/Pacific network,” said James Mueller, United’s vice president of Asia/Pacific. “Guam offers a growing potential for the new United. It’s very important for our teams to experience and know the island firsthand, in order for them to promote this important vacation destination effectively throughout the Asia/Pacific region.”

During the stay all participants had an opportunity to experience several tourists’ attractions to learn a variety of unique products Guam can offer to a wide range of travelers.
