Man beats up woman on Tinian
A woman sustained multiple injuries Sunday after she was allegedly beaten up on Tinian by a man who is on probation for domestic violence on Saipan.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Tinian Health Center due to a laceration above the left eye. She complained of pain in the left ribcage and back.
The suspect, Joseph Naputi Borja, 27, was arrested for assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and contempt of court. The police report did not indicate the victim’s relationship with Borja.
Borja’s bail was set at $10,000 cash. Preliminary hearing will be on Nov. 8 at 1:30pm.
According to the police report, the victim called 911 on Sunday at 10am to ask for help. When two police officers arrived at Borja’s residence, they saw six children crying and yelling in the kitchen. The officers saw the victim lying in bed.
Borja allegedly told the officers that the victim fell and hit her forehead on a wood but one of the children told the officer that she saw Borja punching and kicking her mother. Police immediately arrested Borja.
Borja was sentenced in June to 20 days in prison for domestic violence on Saipan.
